Takayuki (Taka) Higashino

Known for his double- seat grab Indy backflip, Osaka, Japan native Taka Higashino has competed in four X Games with career best third place during the 2010 X Games Best Trick event. Taka won his first Dew Tour event this past September and is currently ranked 7th in FMX World Championship.

 

Age began riding: 8 years old  

How did you begin riding motocross/freestyle motocross? My dad inspired and encouraged me to ride and I took it from there.  

What is the hardest part of being a freestyle motocross rider? The injuries.  

What are your personal and professional goals? Winning an X-Game Medal.  

Do you have any superstitions or pre-performance rituals? Pray  

Is Nuclear Cowboyz tour the new generation of FMX? I think so and I'm excited to be part of this tour. It's awesome!  

Plans after FMX career? I want FMX to grow in Japan and make it as big as it is around the rest of the world.
