Mike Mason received his first-dirt bike as a birthday present from his dad when he was five, and in Mason’s words, “I’ve been hooked ever since!” Mason has competed professionally in both disciplines of motocross - racing and freestyle - dating back to the late ‘90s. It has since paid off for Mason, now 31 years old, and known in the action sports industry for his advanced trick inventory. He has defied all challenges and proven his skill level with his five X Games medals, including his most recent gold medal victory in 2012. Mason is also a two-time ASA World Champion of FMX. Mason credits his parents for his success in motocross, “They sacrificed so much for me and I want to repay them for all that they did,” said Mason. He admits that being a role model for kids is important and he always keeps it in check and real. The 2013 tour marks Mason’s fourth year with the Nuclear Cowboyz. When he’s not participating in FMX tours or competitions, Mason spends his time playing Xbox and enjoys listening to Avenged Sevenfold,. When asked what was his most memorable moment from the Nuclear Cowboyz Tour, Mason added, “I’d say the first four wide flip with me, Miller, Bamburg and Garland. It is a pretty cool thing to say you did on a dirt bike, for sure. Also, the crowds are great, cheering for you, no one gets bored.” Mike Mason grew up in Carson City, NV, and currently resides in Las Vegas, NV.
